Dr. Sandra Mendlowitz is a founding partner and co-director of Reframe Psychology Clinic. She is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She has an extensive clinical and research background in the area of anxiety disorders, having spent almost 25 years at SickKids Hospital in program development and training both psychology and psychiatry interns and residents. Her clinical focus is in anxiety and mood disorders with a particular focus on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and Selective Mutism. Her practice includes the assessment and intervention for children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Mendlowitz has also authored several Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy treatment manuals for anxiety, mood, specific phobias, obsessive compulsive disorders and selective mutism. She is certified in CBIT (Comprehensive and Behavioral Intervention for Tics). In addition, she continues to train and supervise other mental health professionals and to engage in disseminating knowledge at various international conferences, as well as parent workshops.
Dr. Holly McGinn is a registered Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychologist. She received her doctorate degree from the School and Clinical Child Psychology program at OISE/University of Toronto in 2014 and received dual registration as a Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychologist and Health Psychologist from the College of Psychologists of Ontario in 2015. She obtained most of her clinical training here in Toronto, Ontario, working in hospital and school settings such as North York General Hospital, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), the Hospital for Sick Children, and the Toronto District School Board. She completed a 1 year clinical internship and a 2 year clinical-research fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children. She utilizes a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach and has worked with children and adolescents experiencing a range of psychological and learning difficulties. At Reframe, Dr. McGinn's clinical work focuses on children who experience difficulties related to learning, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She is also involved in research focusing on pediatric neuropsychiatric disorders, particularly childhood obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Maria is the first point of contact at Reframe. She helps guide new clients by answering all questions, scheduling appointments, and relaying information concerning first and subsequent visits to Reframe.
Dr. Silvia Bernardini is a founding partner and co-director of Reframe Psychology Clinic. She is a registered Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychologist. She obtained her doctorate degree from the University of Toronto in 2005 and received dual registration as a Clinical and School Psychologist from the College of Psychologists of Ontario in 2007. She has worked extensively in both hospital and school settings with children and their families throughout the years who experience a range of psychological and learning difficulties. Her work focuses on youth who experience Anxiety and Mood Disorders and learning challenges. She assumes a Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Family approach to helping children and families develop lifelong skills and reframe their mindsets. She is also actively involved in disseminating knowledge to the community through workshops and lectures to parents and teachers.
Jennifer Jacobs is a Learning Specialist. In 1998, she began tutoring students at an educational centre in Leaside. After she obtained her Master's degree in English in 2006, she took on the role of Director of Education at the centre. In her twenty years of teaching, Jennifer has worked closely with children with diverse learning challenges and learning needs. She has extensive experience providing instruction to children diagnosed with giftedness, learning disabilities, and attentional disorders. She also has considerable experience preparing students for private school admission tests and has created a truly unique and interactive online test prep program that uses video game features to appeal to kids.
